Why this charge appears
This descriptor can appear when an insurance premium, policy installment, automatic payment, or ACH/card payment is processed under United Financial Casualty Company instead of the consumer-facing Progressive name.
If the payment is yours
If the amount and date match your insurance payment schedule, record which policy it paid. An insurer name on the statement can differ from the Progressive name on your insurance card.
Progressive checklist
- Find the policy number and insurer name on your Progressive declarations page, insurance ID card, or renewal notice.
- Match the date and amount to the payment schedule and policy ledger, including any down payment, installment, renewal, or adjustment.
- Check whether a manual payment and autopay both ran, or whether another vehicle or household policy uses the same payment method.
- Record whether the payment was an ACH bank debit, debit-card payment, or credit-card charge. Keep the transaction reference.
- For a canceled policy, locate the effective cancellation date and final bill or refund notice.
Use the scripts in the company’s official support channel. For suspected unauthorized use, contact your bank or card issuer promptly while you check the records.

Find the policy behind the premium.
- Check active and recently canceled policies, including another driver’s policy you agreed to pay. Ask Progressive to match the amount and date to a policy number and coverage period.
- If you did not authorize the payment, report it promptly to the checking bank for an ACH debit, or to the card issuer for a card payment. You can contact Progressive at the same time.

Compare policies and payment references.
- Compare both entries with the policy ledger: a manual payment and autopay, two policies, or a renewal and installment may explain two withdrawals. Ask support to identify each payment.
- For card entries, check whether one is pending. For two posted payments covering the same bill, request a correction from Progressive and report an unresolved error through the bank or card process below.

I see two UNITED FIN CAS payments: [$amount, date, reference] and [$amount, date, reference]. My policy is [policy number]. It keeps charging me
Separate autopay changes from policy cancellation.
- Ask Progressive for the next withdrawal date, autopay settings, and any final premium or refund after cancellation. If you want to keep coverage, arrange another way to pay before stopping autopay.
- For bank debits, revoke authorization with Progressive and notify your bank; ask about a stop-payment order for an upcoming debit. Stopping payment does not cancel the policy or settle a balance. Confirm cancellation and any replacement coverage separately.

Use the right payment dispute process
Choose how the money left your account to see the relevant process and template. If you are unsure, ask your bank whether the entry used a card or was a bank-account transfer.
Bank-account debit (ACH)
Report an unauthorized or incorrect electronic withdrawal to your checking bank promptly. Give it the date, amount, descriptor, and payment reference. Report an unauthorized debit no later than 60 days after the bank sends the statement showing it. Follow any request for written confirmation. Replacing a debit card does not stop an ACH debit using your bank-account details.
CFPB unauthorized bank-transfer letter (Word)To stop future automatic debits, revoke authorization with the company and notify your bank. Ask about a stop-payment order for a scheduled debit and follow the bank’s instructions. Stopping autopay does not cancel a contract or a balance you owe.
For a scheduled automatic debit, give the bank a stop-payment order at least three business days ahead. If it requires written confirmation of an oral stop order, provide it within 14 days. Ask about any fee.

Debit-card payment
Contact the bank that issued the debit card immediately about unauthorized use or a transaction error. Ask about securing the card and the electronic-transfer dispute process. Reporting deadlines differ from credit-card rules; lost or stolen cards or PINs can require notice within two business days to limit liability.

Credit-card charge
Call the issuer promptly. For federal billing-error rights, make sure the issuer receives written notice at its billing-inquiries address within 60 days after it sent the first statement containing the error. Keep the statement, receipts, and support replies. Merchant contact should not delay your notice to the issuer.
