Residential rental decisions using credit, eviction, criminal-record, employment, income, and other screening information selected by the landlord or property manager.
A notice naming AmRent means the landlord or property manager used an AmRent report in deciding whether to approve, deny, or condition the rental application. AmRent states that it does not make the rental decision.
What may be in the report.
The actual fields depend on the product ordered and whether the company has information about you.
- Credit information included in the AmRent report
- Criminal-record and eviction information returned for the rental screening
- Employment, income, identity, inquiry, or other information included in the property’s requested package
Request, freeze, or dispute the right file.
Use these direct paths instead of a paid credit-repair service or a phone number from an unsolicited message. A freeze at one company does not automatically freeze another report.
Request your report
Use the “Request My Report” form or contact Consumer Assistance for the AmRent report tied to the property application; the CFPB lists one free report every 12 months.

Official dispute pathFirst three steps.
Do not dispute accurate information just because it led to an unfavorable decision.
- 01 Request the AmRent report and keep the landlord’s adverse-action notice and written screening criteria.
- 02 Separate credit-bureau information from eviction, criminal, employment, income, and other source records before disputing.
- 03 Dispute the specific item with AmRent and its original source, then notify the landlord that an investigation is pending.
Separate the reporting-company disclosure from the decision-maker’s action.
The company that supplied a report usually did not make the final decision. Use the notice decoder to choose the credit, banking, housing, employment, insurance, or utility context, then identify the report and next record to compare.
