Personal property insurance

A-PLUS Property

A-PLUS Property is Verisk’s insurance loss-history report for claims associated with a person, home, vehicle, or other personal property; it is separate from LexisNexis C.L.U.E.

What the report is used for

Property and casualty insurance quoting, underwriting, rating, renewal, and claim-risk review based on prior loss activity reported to the A-PLUS database.

If it appears on an adverse-action notice

A notice naming A-PLUS or Verisk means an insurer used that loss-history report in its decision or pricing. Verisk did not make the insurance decision, and a C.L.U.E. disclosure is not a substitute because the two companies maintain separate loss-history systems.

What may be in the report.

The actual fields depend on the product ordered and whether the company has information about you.

  • The person, business, vehicle, or property address matched to the search
  • Prior insurance claims, dates, loss types or perils, and contributing insurer information
  • Claim details or a claims-activity count returned in the A-PLUS product ordered by the insurer
Official consumer routes

Request, freeze, or dispute the right file.

Use these direct paths instead of a paid credit-repair service or a phone number from an unsolicited message. A freeze at one company does not automatically freeze another report.

Request your report

Use Verisk’s FCRA Consumer Inquiry Center to request the A-PLUS report. The CFPB lists one free disclosure every 12 months and also lists 800-627-3487 (option 2).

Freeze information

The CFPB company list does not mark this company as offering a report freeze. Check the company page for any narrower state right, suppression option, or updated policy.

Dispute an error

Request the A-PLUS disclosure first, then identify the person, property, vehicle, claim, date, loss type, or insurer entry that is inaccurate or incomplete.

Official dispute path

First three steps.

Do not dispute accurate information just because it led to an unfavorable decision.

  1. 01 Confirm that the notice names A-PLUS or Verisk rather than LexisNexis C.L.U.E.
  2. 02 Request the A-PLUS report and compare every matched person, property, vehicle, claim, date, and insurer with your records.
  3. 03 Dispute a specific error with the Verisk Consumer Inquiry Center and the insurer that supplied the claim information.
Have the denial notice?

Separate the reporting-company disclosure from the decision-maker’s action.

The company that supplied a report usually did not make the final decision. Use the notice decoder to choose the credit, banking, housing, employment, insurance, or utility context, then identify the report and next record to compare.
