Short-term, rent-to-own, auto, retail, and consumer-finance lending, plus products used for tenant, employment, identity, fraud, and other permitted screening purposes.
A notice naming MicroBilt means the decision-maker obtained a report through MicroBilt. MicroBilt says it cannot provide the decision-maker’s specific reasons; request the actual report to see what information was returned.
What may be in the report.
The actual fields depend on the product ordered and whether the company has information about you.
- Rent, utility, phone, car-insurance, subscription, or other recurring-bill repayment information
- Identity, address, account, inquiry, and transaction information in the MicroBilt database or requested product
- Depending on the ordered product, employment history, criminal or eviction records, driving records, or other background-screening results
Request, freeze, or dispute the right file.
Use these direct paths instead of a paid credit-repair service or a phone number from an unsolicited message. A freeze at one company does not automatically freeze another report.
Request your report
MicroBilt says consumers may request unlimited free copies of a report in its databases and a free copy after adverse action, using its form, mail, or phone route.

MicroBilt offers a free freeze only on reports it creates and maintains. It states that this does not freeze a file at another reporting agency.

Official dispute pathFirst three steps.
Do not dispute accurate information just because it led to an unfavorable decision.
- 01 Request the MicroBilt report identified in the notice and keep the decision-maker’s notice with it.
- 02 Identify whether the item came from MicroBilt’s own database or another data repository shown on the report.
- 03 Dispute the specific inaccurate or incomplete item with MicroBilt and the named source or furnisher.
Separate the reporting-company disclosure from the decision-maker’s action.
The company that supplied a report usually did not make the final decision. Use the notice decoder to choose the credit, banking, housing, employment, insurance, or utility context, then identify the report and next record to compare.
